Plumbers Cornwall — fast help when it can't wait.
Burst pipe at −30 in January, sump pump that quit during the spring melt, or a sewer backing up in Riverdale on a Sunday night — give us a shout. Licensed plumbers based right here in Cornwall, on the road from Long Sault to Lancaster, with the price agreed before we pick up a wrench.

Local Team
Cornwall and SD&G — Long Sault to Lancaster
One local crew for whatever your pipes throw at you.
From a toilet that won't quit running to a sewer line full of roots, Plumbers Cornwall handles it — with the price agreed before we pick up a wrench.
Toilet Repair & Installation
Running, clogged, leaking at the base or rocking on the floor — repaired same day, or a new low-flow toilet installed and the old one hauled away.
Sewer Line Repair & Replacement
Backups, tree roots in the old clay lines and bellied pipe under the lawn. Camera inspection first, then spot repair or full replacement — only what's needed.
Frozen & Burst Pipe Repair
When it hits −30 and the line in the crawl space lets go. Safe thaw-out, burst section replaced, and we show you how to keep it from happening again next January.
Water Heater Repair & Installation
No hot water, leaking tank, pilot that won't stay lit. Tank and tankless repair, replacement, and swapping a rental unit for one you actually own.
Drain Cleaning
Kitchen sink, tub, floor drain in the basement. Augered or hydro-jetted and cleared the same day, with a camera look if it keeps coming back.
Sump Pumps & Backwater Valves
Spring melt and a high water table along the river don't mix with a tired pump. Repair, replacement, battery backup and backwater valve installs.
Leak Detection & Pipe Repair
Water stain on the ceiling, bill that doubled, damp spot on the slab. We find it without tearing the house apart, then fix the pipe — copper, PEX or the old galvanized.
Faucets, Fixtures & Service Work
Dripping taps, shower valves, outdoor hose bibs, dishwasher hookups, shut-off valves and the small jobs that pile up in an older Cornwall house.
Well Pumps & Septic Systems
Outside city limits — Glen Walter, Williamstown, Martintown, Ingleside and the concession roads — most of us are on a well and a septic tank. No water at the tap, pump cycling, tank backing up or alarm going off: jet and submersible pumps, pressure tanks, septic pumping and inspection.
Water on the floor? Drain backing up? Pipe just let go?
Shut off the main, grab a towel and give us a shout — a Cornwall plumber is on the road 24/7, and you'll know the price before we start.
The local plumbers Cornwall calls first
Plumbers Cornwall is a licensed, insured crew based right here in town — not a call centre in Ottawa that dispatches somebody two hours later. We've worked on the century homes downtown, the post-war bungalows in Riverdale and the east end, the new builds off Brookdale, and plenty of farmhouses on wells and septic out in South Glengarry and South Stormont.
Toilets, drains, sewer lines, frozen pipes, water heaters and boilers, sump pumps, well pumps — if water's supposed to go somewhere and isn't, that's us. You get a plumber who shows up when he said, tells you the price before he starts, and leaves the place clean.
Straight answers, a price before we start, and work that holds up.
We've been under enough sinks in Riverdale, enough crawl spaces in the east end and enough farmhouses out on the concession roads to know what breaks around here and why. You get told what's wrong, what it costs, and what can wait — then we fix it.
Price agreed before we pick up a wrench
No "we'll see when we're done." Same number on the invoice.
24/7 — nights, weekends, Family Day
A burst pipe doesn't check the calendar. Neither do we.
Licensed Ontario plumbers, fully insured
Work done to code, paperwork your insurer will accept.
Parts on the truck
Most repairs done on the first visit, not "we'll order it in."
Boots off, floors covered, mess gone
We leave the place the way we found it, minus the problem.
Homes, rentals, shops and farms
City water or well and septic — we work on both every week.
A toilet that won't quit running — or won't flush at all
Half the houses in Cornwall have one bathroom, so when the toilet goes down, the whole house goes down with it. The classics: the tank refilling every twenty minutes all night (that's your water bill, by the way), a flush that needs two or three tries, a wobble on the floor, or a damp ring at the base that means the wax seal gave up a while ago.
Most of it is a flapper, fill valve or seal — fixed in under an hour from the truck. If it's an old 13-litre unit that clogs every second week, we'll say so and put in a low-flow one that actually clears, old toilet hauled away. Our toilet repair and installation page covers what we do and what to expect.
Slow drains, gurgling tubs and the smell coming up from the basement
Cornwall's older streets still run on clay sewer laterals, and the maples out front know exactly where the joints are. Here's how we sort out what's going on — and how far down the pipe the problem really is.
One drain is slow
Kitchen sink full of grease, tub full of hair, laundry drain full of lint. That's a local clog — we auger it or hydro-jet it the same day and show you what came out. Drain cleaning is usually a one-visit job.
Two drains gurgle at once
Flush upstairs and the basement floor drain burps? That's the main line. We clear it and run the camera to see whether it's roots, a bellied section or a collapsed joint — before anybody talks about digging.
It keeps coming back
If the camera shows the clay lateral is done, we spot-repair or replace only the bad run — not the whole yard. Details on our sewer line repair and replacement page, including backwater valves so it never ends up in your basement again.
Getting the house ready for a Cornwall winter
Every January we get the same calls: the line in the crawl space froze overnight, the outside tap wasn't drained and split the pipe inside the wall, the water heater picked the coldest week to quit. Almost all of it is avoidable with an hour's work in October.
- Outdoor hose bibs shut off and drained, frost-free bibs installed where there aren't any
- Exposed lines in crawl spaces, garages and along the north wall insulated or heat-traced
- Water heater flushed and checked — and if it's past twelve years, swapped before it leaks on the furnace room floor
- Boiler and radiator systems bled and tested; new boiler installs for homes still running the original
- Sump pump and discharge line checked so the March melt doesn't meet a frozen outlet
Already too late and something's frozen? Don't put a torch on it. Shut the main, call us, and read what happens next on our frozen and burst pipe repair page.
Book a winter checkOn a well and a septic tank? So is half of SD&G.
Once you're out past Brookdale or across the 401 — Glen Walter, Martintown, Williamstown, Ingleside, Long Sault, the concession roads — there's no city water and no city sewer. There's a pump in the ground and a tank in the yard, and when either one acts up you find out fast.
Pressure dropping in the shower, pump cycling every few seconds, air spitting from the taps, no water at all after a power blip — that's the well side: jet and submersible pumps, pressure tanks, switches, foot valves. We carry the common ones.
A soft, green patch over the bed in July, toilets draining slow all at once, the alarm going off, or a smell near the tank — that's the septic side. Pumping, inspection, baffle and filter repairs, and a straight answer on whether the bed has years left or not. Buying a place out here? Get the tank looked at before you sign — it's the cheapest thing you'll do all year.
Rural calls we handle
- ✓Well pumps & pressure tanks
Jet and submersible pump repair or replacement, switches, foot valves, tank bladders - ✓Septic tank pumping & inspection
Baffles, effluent filters, alarms, and an honest read on the bed - ✓Water softeners & filters
Hard water, iron and sulphur — the usual SD&G well water - ✓Pre-purchase well & septic checks
Before you sign on a country property - ✓Barns, shops & outbuildings
Frost-free hydrants, trough lines, wash bays
No hot water, a puddle under the tank, or a boiler that keeps locking out
A tank water heater around here lasts eight to twelve years, and most of them die in the furnace room without warning. If it's a pilot, element or thermostat, we fix it on the spot. If the tank itself is weeping, it's done — we'll have a new one in and hot water back before supper, and we'll show you how to return a rental unit instead of paying on it for another decade.
Plenty of the older brick homes between Pitt and Marlborough still heat with radiators, and we install and service boilers too — lockouts, pressure loss, circulators, relief valves, and full replacements when the original finally gives up. One call covers your hot water and your heat. More on our water heater repair and installation page.

We show up when we said

Diagnose, explain, price
We find the actual cause, tell you the options in plain English and give you the number. Nothing starts until you say go.

Plumber in Cornwall — what people ask before they book
Still not sure? A two-minute call usually sorts it faster than reading.
Do you have a 24/7 emergency plumber in Cornwall?
Yes — a licensed plumber is on call around the clock, including weekends, Family Day and the week between Christmas and New Year's. Burst or frozen pipes, sewer backups, a water heater leaking on the furnace room floor, no water on a well: call and we'll tell you what to shut off while we're on the way. Same price for emergency plumbing services at 2 a.m. as at 2 p.m.
How much do plumbing services cost in Cornwall, ON?
It depends on the job, and we won't guess over the phone. What we will do is diagnose it, tell you the price before any work starts, and put the same number on the invoice. No hourly meter running, no surprise add-ons. If something turns out bigger than expected once we're in there, you hear about it before, not after.
Are your plumbers licensed and insured in Ontario?
Yes. Every plumber who comes to your door holds an Ontario plumbing licence and we carry full liability insurance. Work is done to the Ontario Building Code, and you get an invoice that your insurer or a home inspector will accept — which matters more than people think when you're selling a house or filing a water damage claim.
Which areas do your plumbing services cover?
All of Cornwall — Riverdale, the east end, Le Village, downtown, Brookdale — plus South Glengarry and South Stormont: Long Sault, Ingleside, Glen Walter, Williamstown, Martintown, Lancaster and the concession roads in between. If you're a bit farther out, call anyway; if a plumber can get to you in a reasonable time, we'll come.
What plumbing services do you handle, and do you do wells and septic?
Toilet repair and installation, drain cleaning, sewer line repair and replacement, frozen and burst pipes, water heaters and boilers, sump pumps and backwater valves, leak detection, faucets and fixtures. Outside city limits, yes — well pumps, pressure tanks, septic pumping and inspection. One plumber, one call, city water or well.
How fast can a plumber get to me in Cornwall?
For emergencies inside Cornwall, usually within the hour; out in the county, a bit longer depending on where you are and what the roads are doing. For anything that can wait — a winter check, a new toilet, a slow drain — you'll get a real arrival window, not "sometime today." Book online or call, and tell us if it's urgent.
